Lub Dolgopolsky

Luba Dolgopolsky holds a Master's in Music Education from Teacher's College at Columbia University and an undergraduate degree in vocal performance from the New School Jazz & Contemporary Music Program.


Luba teaches voice and piano to all ages. She guides her students towards greater musicality through studying a variety of literature, including but not limited to classical, jazz, blues, and popular music.


Luba has been on faculty of the University of the Virgin Islands since 2012 where she has taught voice, piano, sight singing, theory and choir.

Luba is a performing artist and music educator who resides in St. Thomas, USVI. Her band, “The Resonance Project” performs regularly on island. She lived and performed in New York City for many years collaborating with many renowned jazz musicians.


She has appeared regularly at the Zinc Bar with acclaimed guitarist Ron Affif, and has worked with such well-known jazz musicians as Garry Dial, Terre Roche, Ray Gallon (Birdland), Avishai Cohen (Deanna's), Steve Kirby (Sign of the Dove), Harry Whitaker (Smalls, Cupping Room), Neal Miner (Birdland), Michael Howell (Cupping Room), Walter Perkins, Al Harewood, Ron Jackson, Nicki Perrott, Essiet Essiet, Omer Avital, Herman Foster, Ugonna Okegwo, Freddie Bryant, and as a back-up singer for Ronda Ross.


Over the years, her repertoire has broadened to include many styles and songs from various genres  - most notably Soul, R&B, pop, as well as originals.

Trained as a classical pianist, Luba fell in love with jazz singing at the age of 18 and has been performing ever since.
